Pantel launches the ‘Bharat Phone’ range of phones

Pantel Technologies Private Limited has launched the Penta Bharat phone range of mobile phones.
The ‘SaareJahan Se Acha’ Bharat Phone will dramatically alter the Indian Feature Phone market-place, with the device being especially designed for delivering Internet Access at affordable price points. Starting with the entry handset price of Rs. 1,199, this device will deliver the power of the Internet in the hands of the common man. The TFT-LCD screen and the proprietary JAVA Operating System are ideally suited for applications like mobile banking, tele-medical care delivery and streaming data delivery – in addition to being a full featuredVoice Phone.

To make the product promise substantial and commercially attractive, the devices will be bundled with BSNL plans. The Rs. 1,199 device will come bundled with 1,199 minutes of talk-time from BSNL free with it; likewise the Rs. 1,999 device will come bundled with 1,999 minutes of talk-time from BSNL, and so on. This talk-time will be spread over a period of 12 months - thereby making the device usage FREE for the consumer for the voice functionality.
