UEM students will be trained under the “Graduation with Digital Skills” initiative to earn globally recognized Pega certifications like PCSA and PCSSA, enhancing their career prospects in enterprise AI and workflow automation technologies
Pegasystems has partnered with the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Kolkata, to launch a four-year academic program aimed at integrating digital skills into the core of engineering education.
As part of the “Graduation with Digital Skills” initiative, UEM students will be trained and certified on Pegasystems’ cutting-edge enterprise AI and workflow automation technologies, earning globally recognized certifications like PCSA (Pega Certified System Architect) and PCSSA (Senior System Architect). With Pega certified professionals in strong global demand, this certification will play a key role in enhancing their employability.
The initiative will enrol 100–120 students annually in a 16-credit integrated program over four years. It includes real-world internships, hands-on capstone projects, industry mentoring, and faculty upskilling through Pega’s Train-the-Trainer (TTT) initiative.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of several global tech majors signalling the program’s deep industry alignment. This partnership with UEM Kolkata strengthens Pegasystems’ academic footprint in Eastern India and sets a benchmark for how private universities can co-create talent pipelines with global tech leaders.
“This partnership reflects a decisive step in how we scale the impact of our University Academic Program,” said Deepak Visweswaraiah, senior vice president and managing director, Pegasystems. “We are embedding relevance, agility, and employability into the academic DNA that is already embracing technology at its core. Today, the upskilling programs like these are not optional, they are mission critical to India’s digital ambitions and long-term economic resilience. Together, with UEM, we aim to bridge the digital skill divide at a national scale and strive towards a more enhanced workforce of tomorrow.”
“This is a transformative step for India’s higher education system,” said Prof. Sajal Dasgupta, VC, University of Engineering & Management. “Our students will now graduate not only with a degree but also with globally respected digital credentials and immediate employability, which is an absolute need-of-hour in today’s employment landscape.”
