The Android 16 QPR2 update, expected to enhance stability and performance on Google Pixel devices, is now drawing criticism as users report a wave of new issues.
Several Pixel owners have taken to online forums and social media to highlight unexpected glitches following the update. While some users appreciate the new features and refinements, many say the update has introduced more problems than it resolved.
One of the most common complaints centers on battery drain. Users note that their Pixel phones are losing charge much faster than before, even with minimal usage or battery optimization settings enabled.
Another major concern is device overheating. Reports indicate that Pixels are heating up during basic tasks—such as browsing, messaging, or taking photos—raising usability and safety concerns.
Connectivity issues have also surfaced. Some users say that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections are dropping randomly, affecting everything from smart home integrations to audio streaming.
A number of Pixel owners are also facing performance slowdowns. Apps are reportedly taking longer to open, animations feel sluggish, and multitasking is less smooth, contradicting Google’s promise of improved system responsiveness.
Camera-related bugs have been flagged as well. Users report instances of the camera freezing, delays in shutter response, and inconsistent image processing—problems that significantly impact one of Pixel’s biggest selling points.
Other UI glitches include unresponsive touch gestures, flickering screens, and inconsistent behavior in the notification shade and quick settings panel.
Some users have attempted factory resets and cache wipes, but these steps have brought limited relief. This has led many to call for a swift patch from Google to address the growing list of issues.
Google has not yet issued a formal statement, but affected users are hoping that upcoming monthly patches will resolve these problems before they worsen user experience further.
