Quantum enhances DXi8500 Platform
Quantum Corp. (QTM) has increased the storage density and power savings in its DXi8500 appliances, creating disk backup and deduplication solution for enterprise customers. The DXi8500 now incorporates 3TB disk drives to deliver 50-per cent greater storage density, 42-per cent more power savings and 25-per cent higher performance.
In addition, Quantum has also announced that the new DXi8500 encrypts data at rest without impacting performance, just one of several data security enhancements.
"Our customers increasingly want to keep more data for longer periods, and they have to keep it secure and manage it at a lower cost throughout the data lifecycle. They need to accomplish this while meeting increasingly demanding SLAs. Our goal is to provide the tools customers need to adapt to this changing environment with certainty," said Robert Clark, Senior Vice- President, Data Protection Group, Quantum.
