The collaboration introduces AI-powered conversational transactions, enabling users to discover products, place orders, and make payments through voice interactions, with early adoption led by Swiggy on Sarvam’s Indus App.
Razorpay has partnered with Sarvam AI to develop voice-first conversational commerce solutions, signalling a shift from traditional app-based transactions to AI-driven voice interactions. As part of the collaboration, Swiggy will be among the early adopters, enabling users to place food orders through voice conversations on Sarvam’s Indus App.
The initiative aims to simplify digital commerce by allowing users to discover products, place orders, and complete payments within a single conversational interface. The companies said the move is intended to address gaps in India’s e-commerce landscape, where a large number of internet and digital payment users have yet to transition into active online shoppers, often due to language barriers and complex app interfaces.
Voice-led transactions and AI integration
Under the partnership, Sarvam’s AI models and agentic technology stack will be integrated with Razorpay’s payment infrastructure to enable real-time, voice-driven transactions. The system is designed to understand conversational inputs across multiple Indian languages, making digital commerce more accessible to a wider user base.
The rollout will begin with voice-enabled commerce on the Indus App, where users can interact with an AI assistant to complete orders. The system manages the entire transaction flow—from interpreting user intent to processing payments—within a single interaction, reducing the need for multiple steps or platforms.
Expanding AI commerce across platforms
Beyond the initial rollout, businesses will be able to integrate similar voice-based commerce capabilities into their own platforms. As part of an early pilot, a conversational assistant has already been deployed on the website of The Derma Co, enabling users to browse and purchase products using voice commands.
Additionally, Sarvam’s technology will be integrated into Razorpay’s Agent Studio, allowing developers to build multilingual AI agents capable of interacting in languages such as Hindi and Hinglish. The companies said the collaboration reflects a broader industry shift toward AI-native interfaces, with the goal of making digital commerce more intuitive, inclusive, and accessible through natural language interactions.
