Amid rising fears that artificial intelligence (AI) will wipe out entry-level roles, Salesforce CEO has announced that Salesforce is currently hiring 1,000 new graduates and interns. This announcement discards the idea that AI is a job-killer for the younger generation.
He said that the new hiring is a part of the Salesforce’s "Futureforce" program which will work on some of the company’s most advanced AI initiatives, including Agentforce and Headless360.
In a post on X, he said, “I’m locked on, @DavidSacks! We’re hiring 1,000 new grads & interns right now to ride the AI exponential. You are right they said AI would kill entry-level jobs. Meanwhile these grads & interns are building it — powering Agentforce & Headless360 at Salesforce.”
Benioff’s response was on a reply on AI Czar David Sacks post, who had earlier pointed out that the data doesn’t support the “job apocalypse” theory, noting that hiring for college graduates is actually up 5.6% over last year, while unemployment for degree-holding 20–24-year-olds has dropped significantly.
“Narrative violation: Hiring of new college graduates is up 5.6% over last year. Youth unemployment for degreed 20–24‑year‑olds fell to 5.3% from 8.9%. Weren’t we told that 50% of entry-level jobs were going away?” Sacks said in a post.
Salesforce is inviting students and recent graduates to be part of its AI-driven growth journey. The company has streamlined its application process, making it easier for aspiring candidates to apply for internships and entry-level roles and contribute to its next phase of innovation.
