The global CRM player, Salesforce has successfully concluded its flagship developer conference TrailheaDX (TDX) in India. This is for the first time that this conference took place in the country. In this event the company introduced its Trailhead, the free online learning platform that empowers anyone to skill up for the future. With Trailhead, anyone – regardless of gender, ethnicity or socioeconomic background – can build the skills they need to land an in-demand job in technology, both within and beyond the Salesforce ecosystem.
Explaining about Trailhead, Kristine Lande – VP Marketing Trailhead, Salesforce says, “We started Trailhead almost five years ago in 2014 and started with a mission of making learning accessible. We wanted to really democratize education, make it free, fun, hands on to learn technology. As we ground, we started with Salesforce technology, then we partnered with Google, Apple, InVision and we brought those skills onto the platform. We recently announced partnership with AWS so you can actually learn how to be an AWS cloud practitioner on Trailhead. We are not only bringing Salesforce but also our partner skills under Trailhead.”
Kristine feels that India is the epicenter of technology. With a change in technology the skills are also changing. The skills that we had five years ago are no longer relevant. So one needs to keep on learning, especially in India as technology is moving fast in the country.
She adds, “With Trailhead, Salesforce’s free online learning platform, we are teaching technologies like AI, blockchain, cyber security and Salesforce skills as well. We play our content every week as we want to make sure that with new technologies and innovations they are available for anyone to learn those new skills. We are constantly updating to make sure that we stay relevant.”
While talking about TrailheadDX that happened for the first time in India she says, “We want people to leaveTrailheadDX further in their knowledge of the Salesforce platform. People came in with a mission, they want to learn lighting web components, real soft, about Trailhead. They want to learn the skills that they know are going to get them great skills in the workplace and help them to get a great job. So we want to give them great skills to go further in their career so that they can become an admin, a developer, a Salesforce architect.”
Kristine sees a huge potential in India. People are keen to learn new technology skills and there are a lot of scope for themto grow.
She hopefully says,“The potential here in India is just enormous and we saw so many people, just the fact that this event sold out three weeks before the event started. People want to learn those new tech skills and I think there is just so much potential here to grow and for people to learn Salesforce skills.”
Highlighting the fact that its partners are also leveraging the platform to up-skill themselves and Kristine says, “Today, all of our partners are leveraging Trailhead to skillup themselves. We have a partner called Accenture, so its consultants need to stay top of their game, need to know Salesforce skills to be able to serve their customers and clients. They are learning with Trailhead. Partners like Delloitte, Accenture, Cognizant constantly using Trailhead to be able to stay on top of the game. Accenture is scaling up their internal teams with myTrailhead with their brand and content,to be able to create a culture of learning within their organization.”
The ultimate goal of any technology is to provide customer satisfaction. Elaborating on the same she says, “In Salesforce we have Customer 360 platform which is bringing together all facets of technology that touch your customer from sales to marketing, analytics, productivity tools. All of these touch points that you have with your customers, putting them all together and create seamless customer experience that is all on Salesforce, so can really know your customer.“
In separate partnerships, Salesforce has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with the ICT Academy; the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) and ICT Academy of Kerala (ICTAK). Through these partnerships, Salesforce will bring Trailhead, its free online learning platform, into the classroom – empowering students to skill up through gamified learning content and hands-on challenges. Salesforce has committed to train 250,000 students for the technology jobs of tomorrow by 2022.
