Samsung Electronics has announced a major upgrade to its mobile security and privacy features for its upcoming Galaxy smartphones, aimed at safeguarding personalized AI experiences. The enhancements include Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), an upgraded Knox Matrix threat response system, and quantum-resistant encryption for Secure Wi-Fi.
These developments come as AI becomes deeply embedded in mobile and connected ecosystems, and Samsung is doubling down on its commitment to user privacy and trusted mobile experiences.
Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection: Securing On-Device AI
Samsung’s new Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) architecture introduces app-specific, encrypted storage zones, ensuring that each Galaxy AI-powered feature accesses only its own data. KEEP supports the Galaxy Personal Data Engine (PDE), securing personal insights such as user routines, Smart Gallery searches, and Now Brief — all stored locally and protected by Knox Vault, Samsung’s hardware-based security platform.
KEEP will also power other key Galaxy AI functionalities, offering secure, personalized services without compromising user data — marking a shift from privacy as a setting to privacy as a built-in design.
Knox Matrix: Smarter, Proactive Threat Response
With the rollout of One UI 8, Samsung is evolving Knox Matrix to deliver real-time, cross-device threat alerts. If a device is suspected of being compromised, it will be instantly signed out of the user’s Samsung Account to halt potential spread. Notifications will be pushed to all connected Galaxy devices, directing users to review security status and take corrective steps. Even devices missing critical updates will display yellow alerts — promoting proactive action.
Secure Wi-Fi Upgraded with Post-Quantum Encryption
Expanding on its quantum-safe security initiative first seen in the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung has added post-quantum cryptography (PQC) to Secure Wi-Fi. This update strengthens encrypted network communications by safeguarding key exchanges against future quantum computing threats. It protects Galaxy users from “harvest now, decrypt later” cyberattacks, where malicious actors store encrypted data for later decryption using quantum technology.
By implementing this post-quantum cryptographic framework, Samsung ensures safer online browsing over public Wi-Fi and raises the bar for end-to-end mobile privacy in the quantum era.
With the launch of these next-gen security updates, Samsung reinforces its leadership in mobile protection, delivering AI-driven personalization backed by robust, future-proof privacy measures.
