SAP extends support for developer community
SAP AG has announced to extend its focus and commitment to the developer community with key open-source contributions, a real-time development experience for SAP HANA and the publication of a new unified developer licence.
“The extraordinary power of SAP HANA gives us an opportunity to totally rethink the developer experience. We are very proud to release SAP River, a key first step toward reimagining and dramatically simplifying the experience of application development. We are also excited to strengthen our commitment to the developer community with several key open-source contributions and a new unified developer licence that makes it easier for developers to get started with SAP technologies,” said Dr Vishal Sikka, Member of the Executive Board of SAP AG, Products & Innovation.
To address the fast and agile nature of the market, SAP has launched a regional test drive of a new open development environment for SAP HANA. SAP River intends to provide a real-time development environment for rapidly building complete native applications powered by SAP HANA and enable increased developer productivity through a simpler development process, easily maintainable source code and a clear separation of intent and yet an optimized native execution on SAP HANA.
