Schneider Electric to create 5,000 more jobs in Karnataka

 

 

 

 Schneider Electric has announced plans to generate 5,000 additional jobs in Karnataka as part of its ongoing efforts to expand its operations in India. This strategic move is in line with company's commitment to strengthening its footprint in the region and contributing to the state’s economic growth.

A delegation led by MB Patil, Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries is visiting Europe ahead of the Global Investors Meet in February 2025. Patil met Bruno Turchet, Vice President - Global Supply Chain Strategy Deployment, Schneider Electric, at the French Embassy. Emphasising the company's confidence in Karnataka as a hub for innovation and manufacturing, Turchet shared plans for the new PCB manufacturing facility.

The announcement underscores Schneider Electric’s focus on localizing its operations and creating job opportunities in key markets. Karnataka, known for its thriving technology ecosystem and robust industrial base, has been a hub for Schneider Electric’s activities in India. The creation of these new roles will span various domains, including manufacturing, engineering, research and development (R&D), and administrative support.

The discussions also focused on enhancing the availability of electromechanical engineers and increasing the localization of supply chains. The Minister reiterated the Government of Karnataka’s commitment to supporting Schneider Electric’s expansion and invited its global leadership team to the upcoming Global Investors Meet.

India serves as a critical market for Schneider Electric, contributing significantly to its global operations. The company has invested heavily in the country over the years, setting up multiple manufacturing facilities, innovation hubs, and customer experience centers. By increasing its workforce in Karnataka, Schneider Electric aims to bolster its production capabilities, enhance customer service, and support its digital transformation initiatives.

The new jobs will also support Schneider’s efforts in promoting renewable energy, smart grid technologies, and intelligent building solutions in India. The country’s focus on digital transformation, renewable energy adoption, and infrastructure development offers ample opportunities for Schneider to expand its influence.
