The cybersecurity company has named industry veteran Toby Weiss as Chief Executive Officer to lead its next phase of growth, focusing on AI-driven security operations, advanced analytics and improved operational efficiency for enterprise customers and MSSPs.
Securonix has appointed Toby Weiss as its Chief Executive Officer, marking a leadership transition as the company looks to strengthen its position in the rapidly evolving security operations market. Weiss takes charge at a time when enterprises and managed security service providers (MSSPs) are facing increasingly sophisticated cyber threats, growing compliance requirements and mounting pressure to improve security outcomes while controlling operational costs.
The company said Weiss will lead its next phase of growth by advancing the Unified Defense SIEM platform, which combines advanced analytics, Data Pipeline Manager (DPM) and Agentic AI capabilities to help organizations improve threat detection, automate investigations and enhance security operations. Securonix said the platform is designed to deliver greater visibility, operational efficiency and measurable business outcomes as organizations modernize their security operations centres (SOCs).
Focus on AI-driven security operations
"Toby brings a powerful combination of cybersecurity expertise, enterprise software leadership, and operational excellence," said Nadeem Syed, Executive Chairman of the Securonix Board and Senior Managing Director at Vista Equity Partners. "Security operations are at an inflection point as organizations move from alert-driven tools toward AI-powered execution. Toby has spent his career scaling businesses through pivotal technology transitions, and we are confident in his ability to lead Securonix forward."
Weiss brings more than three decades of leadership experience in enterprise software and cybersecurity. Prior to joining Securonix, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Fiery and previously held senior leadership roles at Application Security, Inc. and CA Technologies, where he led global security software businesses.
Growth strategy and customer focus
"Security operations are entering a new era where success will be measured not by how many alerts analysts review, but by how much security work organizations can execute," said Toby Weiss. "Our customers want three things: better security outcomes, greater operational efficiency, and the ability to scale without proportionally increasing costs. Securonix is uniquely positioned to deliver on those priorities. Our advanced analytics help organizations identify the threats that matter most. Our Data Pipeline Manager gives customers greater control over security data economics and visibility. Our Agentic AI innovations help automate and accelerate investigation and response workflows while maintaining governance and human oversight. Together, these capabilities enable organizations to operate more effectively today while preparing for the future of AI-powered security operations."
Commenting on the appointment, Marion Smith, Chief Financial Officer at Securonix, said, “Customers are looking for measurable security outcomes despite growing operational complexity. They want to improve analyst productivity, accelerate investigations, strengthen security posture, and maximize the value of their security investments. Toby understands how to connect innovation with customer success and business results. His leadership will help accelerate growth, deepen customer partnerships, and continue delivering the operational outcomes security teams need.”
Securonix said it will continue investing in innovations such as Sam, the AI SOC Analyst, Agentic Mesh and Data Pipeline Manager to help organizations improve cybersecurity operations, reduce costs and accelerate threat investigations.
