Som Satsangi, Managing Director – India, HPE
2018-10-01"As a market, India has been an early adopter for composable infrastructure with strong market demand, demonstrating that many Indian enterprises are ahead of the curve and their appetite for innovations in the data center is pushing the speed of innovation. For HPE Synergy, industry’s first composable infrastructure for traditional and cloud-native applications, we already have a number of customers in India spanning manufacturing, telco, banking, IT/ITES, pharma industries.
As organizations go through this maturity curve to optimize data and applications, hyperconverged infrastructure is another technology trend that is gaining momentum. Standard virtualized environments can be significantly revamped and simplified, and HPE SimpliVity platform is one of the fastest growing platforms from our portfolio. We have several use cases across a variety of workloads that are delivering fantastic results. For example a leading stock trading company in Mumbai has standardized on SimpliVity and they have shared several benefits like simplified management, data protection and agility. In other cases we are seeing customers making these infrastructure modernization choices through our unique HPE GreenLake service offerings. A new age fintech firm based in Bengaluru, that provides critical services to several banks in India, has chosen HPE GreenLake pay-as-you-grow services to host their application and get the best of breed infrastructure platforms.
Today, we are witnessing the intersection of a humongous volume of data from the analog world and the vast amounts of digitally stored data, which is creating a new level of understanding about the world around us. This revolution is laying the foundation for new categories like autonomous driving, robotic manufacturing and artificial intelligence, as well as a new world of technologies not yet realized.
Moreover, as flash storage permeates the data center, it is imperative for businesses to move beyond the array that is from predictive analytics to data protection to investment strategies. Additionally, flash storage adoption continues to gain pace, a majority of organizations are expected to shift to an all-flash data center in the next half-decade.
We are also witnessing artificial intelligence coupled with high performance computing enabling businesses to leverage modelling, simulation and deep learning to drive business innovation in areas like financial trading; computer-aided design and engineering; video surveillance and text analytics.
Our company’s strong position today was made possible by the work we did during the last several years. Our strong product and services portfolio continues to enable businesses to leverage, store and analyze the critical data that improves customer experiences, drive new business models, and increase productivity.
Earlier this year, we launched a Customer Experience Center (CEC) in Gurugram to showcase and demonstrate IoT-based smart city solutions that address the complex and fragmented ecosystem that exists within IoT environments and how we can help implement an infrastructure that interconnects the various components of the end-to-end solution. Some of the key smart city solutions featured at the CEC include eHealth Center, Public Wi-Fi, City Surveillance, Solid Waste Management, and Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC).
Recently, India’s first cloud-based ICCC, powered by HPE, was launched in Bhopal. The solution enables the Madhya Pradesh state government to remotely manage and control various citizen services across seven cities via a single platform. These services include Smart Lighting, Smart Parking, Smart Traffic and Transport, Smart Waste Management, Smart Water.
We are fortunate to have the trust and faith of customers across enterprises - large, medium and small - as well as governments across the country who choose HPE as the platform of choice for their compute, storage and networking requirements. While we continue to maintain our leadership position in datacenter compute, and storage categories, one of the most important milestones was in our networking business. According to IDC's Asia/Pacific Quarterly WLAN Tracker, Q12018 (Jan - Mar 2018), HPE gained #1 position in the WLAN category in India. This is a testimony to our class-leading Aruba portfolio. As ageing network campus and LAN infrastructure continues to be revamped and modernized, HPE Aruba brings a wealth of innovation and capabilities with our customer-first customer-last approach. We are winning across industry verticals – smart city, government, education, banking, manufacturing – and the feedback from customers is outstanding."
