Spice Mobility Ltd. has claimed that it is planning to make few acquisitions in Africa and also mulling to set up a plant in Tamil Nadu to enhance its production base.
Zulfi Ali Bhutto, Associate Vice-President, Mumbai Cluster, Spice said, "We are planning to set up a plant in Tamil Nadu. The proposal is under initial stages of discussion. Presently the company manufactures handsets at its lone production unit at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh with a capacity to produce 2.5 lakh handsets per month. The company is mulling to expand its reach in 90 countries and as part of this strategy it is also working on acquisition of few firms in Africa."
