SUSE has appointed industry veteran Marshal Correia as general manager for India and South Asia, strengthening its leadership team as enterprises across the region increase investments in open source infrastructure, digital sovereignty and AI.
The appointment comes as Indian organizations accelerate adoption of sovereign technologies and AI platforms, creating demand for vendor-neutral enterprise infrastructure that offers greater control over data, applications and cloud environments.
Correia brings more than four decades of experience in enterprise technology and business leadership. In his new role, he will lead SUSE's growth strategy across India and South Asia, with a focus on helping customers modernize IT infrastructure, accelerate digital transformation and adopt AI-ready open source platforms.
Before joining SUSE, Correia served as vice president and general manager for India and SAARC at Red Hat, where he led the company's regional expansion. He has also held senior leadership positions at DXC Technology, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Compaq Computer and Digital Equipment Corporation, managing large businesses and transformation initiatives across India, Asia and global markets.
His appointment comes as SUSE's recent digital resiliency research found that 62% of Indian enterprises are already investing in sovereign technologies, compared with a global average of 52%. The study also found that 90% of Indian organizations plan to increase AI spending, underscoring the growing need for secure and transparent enterprise infrastructure.
"South Asia is a huge hub for open source and technological development, and AI has only underscored the immense need for open source to act as an engine for collaborative innovation," said Correia. "SUSE's integrated portfolio brings together the best of enterprise and community technology. With organizations across India modernizing legacy infrastructure and deploying AI workloads, SUSE is positioning its open source portfolio as a foundation for hybrid cloud, container management and enterprise Linux environments that can support large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
Correia's experience in services-led growth, open source adoption and AI-driven business transformation is expected to support SUSE's efforts to deepen customer engagement and expand its partner ecosystem across the region.
