Syntel has announced expansion of its IT services in India by opening a new Global Development Campus (GDC) in Tirunelveli of Tamil Nadu.
According to Syntel, this campus represents a significant expansion of the Company's facilities in India, and reinforces Syntel’s commitment to expanding its infrastructure through a campus-based strategy.
It has been claimed by the company that more than 2,500 employees will be incorporated in the 250,000-sq. ft. of work space inside the campus during the first phase.
The Tirunelveli campus will include sustainable elements including an optimal use of natural light as well as an on-premises wind and solar farm for generating renewable energy.
The facilities in the campus have been designed to enable Syntel staff to create an optimal work/life balance with the help eco-friendly features such as multi-level terraces, internal courts with green spaces, a central courtyard, dedicated areas for an amphitheatre, sports fields, and a yoga and meditation centre.
Prashant Ranade, CEO & President, Syntel, said, "We are extremely excited to begin construction on the new Tirunelveli campus, which has been designed with both our clients and employees in mind. The campus is highly scalable and will give us additional flexibility to meet the growing demand for globally delivered IT services."
He added, “We are also grateful for the support of the Government of Tamil Nadu and NASSCOM, both of which have been indispensible during the planning process.”
In addition to the new development in Tirunelveli, Syntel has planned to expand its campuses in Pune and Chennai.
