To develop 10,000-megawatt renewable energy power projects, Tata Power Renewable Energy has inked a Memorandum of Understanding with the Gujarat Government worth Rs 70,000 crore. The MoU was signed during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. This will help Tata Power to achieve the goal of generating 50% of power from renewable sources by 2030.
The projects will be established at Dholera in Ahmedabad, Khavda in Kutch and Banaskantha. The projects include solar, wind, hybrid, round-the-clock, peak, and firm and dispatchable renewable energy, covering an extensive 50,000-acre of encumbrance-free government land.
This is the biggest MoU signed by a private entity in the renewable energy sector during the second day of 10th Vibrant Gujarat summit.
This investment is a part of the Rs 1.5-lakh crore worth MoUs for the renewable sector. This project aims to create 3,000 jobs.
