TECNO POVA Slim 5G launched in India with focus on design and AI

The smartphone features a 6.78-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and 4500 nits brightness, coupled with 16GB RAM and 128GB storage for seamless multitasking across gaming, streaming, and productivity

TECNO Mobile India has announced the launch of the POVA Slim 5G, which the company claims to be the world’s slimmest 3D curved 5G smartphone. The device will be available in India from September 8, 2025, at a price of ₹19,999.

The launch aligns with TECNO’s “3B philosophy”—Best Signal, Best Design, and Best AI—focused on connectivity, design, and artificial intelligence features. According to Arijeet Talapatra, CEO of TECNO Mobile India, the company’s mission is to create smartphones tailored for the needs of users in tier 2 and tier 3 towns.

Ultra-slim design with durability

The POVA Slim 5G has a thickness of 5.95mm and weighs 156g, positioning it as one of the slimmest smartphones available. It introduces what the company calls a Dynamic Mood Light Design, where the phone lights up dynamically for calls, notifications, and user interactions.

The device features a 6.78-inch 1.5K 3D Curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 4500 nits peak brightness, aimed at delivering a smooth and immersive experience for gaming, streaming, and browsing.

Durability has also been emphasized, with the device built using Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and meeting Military Grade MIL-STD 810H standards, along with an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.

AI features with Indian language support

POVA Slim 5G comes equipped with Ella AI, TECNO’s smart assistant that supports multiple Indian languages. Key features include AI Call Assistant, AI Writing, AI Image Editing, Circle to Search, and Privacy Blurring. These functions are designed to enhance daily productivity, content creation, and user privacy.

Focus on connectivity and performance

On the connectivity front, the smartphone supports 5G+ Carrier Aggregation, 4x4 MIMO, and Dual SIM Dual Active. It also carries TÜV Rheinland High Network Performance certification, ensuring reliable network access across different regions.

For performance, the device offers 16GB RAM (8GB physical + 8GB virtual) and 128GB of storage. TECNO says this configuration will enable smooth multitasking and fast app response times, catering to both entertainment and productivity use cases.

The POVA Slim 5G will be available in three color options—Sky Blue, Slim White, and Cool Black—through retail outlets across the country.
