Textile Minister Smriti Irani stitches homemade reusable face masks
Textile Minister Smriti Irani recently tweeted a picture of herself stitching face masks during lockdown. With the picture collage, which also acts as a step-wise guide on how to make masks, Irani wrote, "Reusable masks can also be made from needle and thread at home." She also attached the Health Ministry's advisory link with the tweet.
Earlier, Jodhpur MP and Union Jal Shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat’s wife Naunand Kunwar has pioneered in making masks.
BJP’s Divisional Head Achal Singh Medatia said that Gajendra Singh Shekhawat is monitoring the cases of corona infection himself and at the same time, his wife and children are involved in social service as they make masks at home at their Delhi residence. Naunand said that while in European countries like Italy, Spain, Britain, France, Germany the situation has worsened and become uncontrollable, Czech Republic has controlled the spread of COVID-19 to a large extent by using masks, and that's the reason why the family decided to stitch the masks themselves.
