In order to retain its user base, Threads, the Meta-owned app has been working on various features that are akin to the Elon Musk-owned X platform. Threads is now reportedly working on yet another feature that was accidentally leaked. The Meta-owned social media platform is working on “trending topics”, a feature which is similar to X’s “What’s happening”.
Notably, Meta employees, notably, have a special feed where they can post things only for other employees to see. It could be possible that the Threads engineer was “sharing feedback about the trending topics feature and mistakenly posted it on the public timeline.”
The screenshot showed a search bar and under it, topics that are trending on the platform. The feature also tells how many threads have been posted on the platform on a particular topic, something similar which is seen on X.
Under ‘What’s happening’, users can see the trending topics and how many posts have been posted on the platform on the topic.
Threads have got features in the past that have been borrowed from X. For example, Following and For You feed, that allows Threads users to view posts from other profiles on their feeds in two ways.
The other feature is Translations wherein Threads posts in feed will be translated automatically based on the language they are written in and the language settings of the person viewing it.
