Actor Tusshar Kapoor and veteran Naseeruddin Shah have teamed up for a thriller titled Maarich. The film directed by debutant Dhruv Lather, will show Tusshar don the police uniform while Shah will be seen playing a catholic priest.
Tusshar tweeted the news of his upcoming venture."Almost 20 yrs down this wonderful journey of making stories come to life, beginning 2021 with #Maarrich...a departure from my usual style, a film that challenges me to evolve as an actor! Excited to share glimpses, even more excited to share screen space with Naseer Sir after long (sic)".
Along with the news, Tusshar also shared the first looks of the duo, for the film. The movie is on different lines than Tusshar’s regular filmography. Film and television producer Ekta Kapoor also took to Twitter to wish her younger brother the very best for his upcoming feature film.
The title of the movie has been drawn from a character in the Hindu epic, Ramayana. Maarrich was an aide of Lanka King Raavana who had assisted the king in kidnapping Lord Ram's wife, Sita, by pretending to be a golden deer.
Apart from the film, Tusshar will also be seen producing Dhruv Lather’s another directorial venture. Kapoor was also the producer of the Akshay Kumar starrer horror-comedy Laxmii, which had opened to tepid reviews in November last year. Tusshar Kapoor began his career with box office hit Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, opposite Kareena Kapoor.
