Uber intends to increase its presence in Hyderabad because it sees the city as a vital hub for technology. In keeping with international sustainability initiatives, Uber is launching environmentally friendly services: Uber Green for rides in electric vehicles and Uber Shuttle for premium rides on high-capacity vehicles.
The decision was made after discussions with the Chief Minister of Telangana.
The company realized Hyderabad as home to its largest tech center and engineering hub outside the United States and it decided to further expand in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
It would create 1,000 engineering positions and prioritise AI and machine learning.
These initiatives highlight Uber and Telangana’s dedication to environmental responsibility and align with global efforts towards a greener future.
Uber’s expansion and the introduction of these services in Hyderabad also resonate with the Telangana government’s steadfast efforts to foster growth in the Mobility and Automotive sector.
