UClean has announced its second round of pre series A funding of Rs.4 crore from US-based angel investor, Anubhav Chopra. As part of the deal, Anubhav has also invested in setting up the first-ever “UClean Select” studio. It is the “full stack live dry cleaning” offering from the UClean stable which offers premium dry cleaning and maintenance services for delicate and ornamental clothes and leather-based premium products like bags. The first-ever UClean Select studio has come up in the posh Defence Colony area of Delhi and marks the entry of UClean in the niche dry clean segment. UClean also launched its Android and iOS apps for convenience of last-minute bookings and quick door step services. Brand ambassadors and UClean strategic partners Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu inaugurated their first UClean Select studio.
UClean was incubated in October 2016 by initial seed investment from Franchise India and Mumbai-based investor Rajiv Jalan, and continues to grow very aggressively through the franchising route.
UClean Founder & CEO Arunabh Sinha said, “We are pleased to have closed our second round of funding from Anubhav Chopra and this funding will hold us in good stead while we continue to grow aggressively. We have received overwhelming response from our customers in various cities since we incepted our company in October 2016. The idea has always been to build UClean as a hyperlocal neighbourhood concept, powered in the front end by technology. We are proud to introduce Android and iOS apps for our services for our end-users. The apps help the customers avail pick-&-drop services from the comfort of their homes just through the click of a button.”
Anubhav Chopra, Angel investor & Founder, Thinking Deals, said, “India with its 1.2 billion plus population is a huge market for the cleaning business. One thing that you have in abundance in India is dirt. UClean has tapped this market at an opportune time and I am confident that this will grow to greater heights in the times to come.”
