Uninor enters Limca Book of Records
Uninor has entered the Limca Book of Records for maximum participation in a 5-km run (daud) organized in six zones of its UP West circle. The run was organized simultaneously in the cities of Agra, Aligarh, Bareilly, Haridwar, Meerut and Moradabad last year in June and witnessed participation from over 6000 people across all age groups. The run was promoted as ‘Ek Daud Apne Liye’ (Run for yourself) – promoting the idea of healthy living and perseverance.
“It is a proud moment for Uninor to get their name listed in the Limca book of records. The credit for the success of the Uninor Daud goes to the participants,” said KC Narendran, Circle Business Head- UP West, Uninor. “The marathons and these kind of runs are restricted to large metro cities. So we thought of creating a platform for the people in smaller towns to participate in a ‘Daud’ with the message of healthy living.”
The build-up to the Uninor Daud began a week in advance. Hundreds of people pre-registered themselves at counters placed outside Uninor retail outlets and specially designed vehicles travelling around the cities of UP West region. This was supported by outdoor hoardings, posters, banners and leaflets; inviting participants to register and encouraging them to participate in innovative and vibrant costumes.
