Finance Minister P. Chidambaram who was appointed last August has presented eighth Budget of his career. The month of February in which the Union Budget is presented brings in expectations from all corners.
Infusion of funds in the education sector is certainly a step in the right direction. Furthermore, employment and productivity were well addressed too, as the government plans to promote youth skill development for jobs. Exemption of service tax will continue to encourage human development. Though the Union Budget 2013 is encouraging for the SME and the MSME sector, to some it may not be aggressive enough. In the context of IT industry, a lot more remains to be desired.
