Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurates Cyber Security Operations Centre in Assam Rifles
2024-01-19Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation has launched the Cyber Security Operations Centre in Assam Rifles Headquarters at Laitkor in Shillong.
On the occasion, the minister said that Bharat is advancing towards digitalization under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also said that the government is committed to create a cyber-success society by making the internet secure for every citizen. He added that cyber crime prevention is a priority for the Modi government.
Shah recognized the efforts of the Assam Rifles in modernising its operations. He said that the Cyber Security Operations Centre will strengthen the cyber security posture of the Force by carrying out real-time monitoring of the network, mitigation of external threats & prevention of Cyber violations in the Assam Rifles Wide Area Network (ARWAN). The centre has been equipped with a state-of-the-art Network & data monitoring devices to provide 24x7 services. Shah appreciated the concerted efforts of Assam Rifles in ensuring seamless and secure digital services within the force.
The newly formed centre is the first among all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
