Using iPhone in high temperatures can cause permanent damage
As climate change makes heatwaves a more common occurrence, Apple makes it very clear that iPhones should only be used where the ambient temperature is between 0º and 35ºC, and used outside this range may cause the device to change its behaviour.
The changes include slowing down or completely stopping the charging, display getting dim or black, decrease in signal strength, cellular radios entering a low-power state, camera flash temporarily disabled, performance degraded with graphics-intensive apps or features, and many more.
Using an iOS or iPadOS device in very hot conditions can permanently shorten battery life. When things get too hot, the iPhone might pop up a warning screen. It's best to switch off the device and put it somewhere cooler to prevent damage.
Apple has mentioned some tips on helping to keep iPhones cool in high temperatures:
· Don't leave your iPhone or iPad in a car on a hot day or in direct sunlight for an extended period of time
· Try not to use demanding features such as GPS tracking or navigation in a car, playing a graphics-intensive game, or using augmented-reality apps in hot conditions or direct sunlight
