WhatsApp has launched a new feature that will enable users to pin a message in individual and group conversations on the app. This feature will help users find important messages easily.
All types of messages like text, poll, image, and emojis can be pinned but users can pin only one message at a time. Pinned messages will remain at the top of the chat window as a banner. WhatsApp said that it has started rolling out the feature to all users across the world.
In order to pin a message, user can long press on any message in a conversation and select 'Pin' from the context menu, following which a banner will appear that will enable users to select the duration of the pinned message - 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days.

Admins will have the authority to select whether only them or all members will have the option to pin messages in group chats.
This feature can come in handy for users to have quick access to timely information such as dates, times or meeting locations instead of sifting through past messages, which otherwise can be quite tedious in busy groups or individual conversations.
