WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will let users message themselves from multiple devices that are linked to their WhatsApp account. A report states that people will see their name on the WhatsApp chat list when linked to a PC, iOS and an Android device.
A report by WABetaInfo said, “This chat will also show up when you try to log into WhatsApp from another different mobile device when the feature will be released to people at a later date.
According to the report, when users click on their contact list on WhatsApp Desktop, they will see the personal chat named ‘You’ at the top of the list. Users will be able to send a message to themselves by tapping on ‘You’ and opening personal chat.
Offering the ability to chat with yourself can be handy for people who want to make a quick note and sync it on other devices at the same time. The feature is in development, and will soon be available for iOS and Android beta testers.
WhatsApp is also bringing more privacy-centric features for its users in the coming months. It has already introduced the extended version of disappearing messages for the mobile users, and now it lets users transfer files up to 2GB, and also encrypt the chats that are backed up on the cloud.
