WhatsApp to Use a Blue Verification Checkmark Instead of a Green One for Verified Channels
2024-07-09In the Android 2.23.20.18 beta version, WhatsApp intends to substitute a new checkmark for the green one, according to a recent report. The app is working on altering the green verification mark for certified channels and businesses to a blue checkmark. Meta wants to create verification badges that are the same on all of its platforms, just as the blue checkmarks that are present on Facebook and Instagram.
Public testing of this update is presently underway on WhatsApp, and some beta users have already noticed the new blue checkmark.
The new blue checkmark will replace the old green badge, bringing the app's appearance in line with other Meta platforms. This will provide a unified experience across its apps.
Only some beta users who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store, can now see the new blue checkmark. The feature is expected to be rolled out to more users in the coming weeks.
Reportedly, during the Meta Conversations on June 6, 2024, Meta announced the arrival of the blue Meta Verified tick to some small businesses using the WhatsApp Business app. However, it’s not clear when this new update will roll out.
