According to reports, Apple will launch iOS 18 with AI-powered emoji personalisation. With the help of this function, users' words will be converted into customised and expressive emojis, enhancing their communication experience. Changes to the home screen, including the ability to rearrange widget positions and modify the colour of app icons, may also be included in iOS 18.
This new tool is expected to replicate the custom emotions of humans with the help of AI. The report did not mention if there would be any guidelines or custom settings to stop people from abusing the feature by creating unwanted or obscene emojis.
In addition to the emoji creation tool, iOS 18 is also set to introduce several other AI features across different applications, including Photos, Notes, and notifications as well. These updates aim to enhance users’ experience.
Additionally, users will be able to change app icon colours such, with different colour profiles for different apps. This will allow users to have more freedom to place apps anywhere on the home screen grid, similar to widgets or shortcuts in iOS. This will also allow users to move away from the current fixed-aligned grid of iOS home screen.
