This landmark reform is set to redefine police hiring, making Delhi’s cybercrime units more skilled, tech-driven, and prepared to combat evolving digital threats.
The Delhi Police has introduced a merit-based examination system for appointing Station House Officers (SHOs) in Cyber Police Stations. For the first time in the department’s history, these critical positions will be filled based on skill and expertise rather than just seniority and experience. This reform aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in cyber policing.
With cybercrime on the rise, the Delhi Police is prioritizing tech-savvy leadership to handle digital investigations more effectively. A total of 122 police inspectors have applied for just 15 coveted Cyber SHO positions, reflecting a growing interest in cybersecurity enforcement, digital forensics, and online fraud prevention.
The exam will take place on March 18 at the Delhi Police Academy in Wazirabad. Candidates will be assessed on legal knowledge, investigative skills, and decision-making abilities.
