Accenture has agreed to acquire Ookla, a specialist in network intelligence, benchmarking, and customer experience analytics. The move will strengthen Accenture’s ability to help communications service providers, hyperscalers, and enterprises optimize Wi-Fi and 5G networks that underpin their digital operations.
Ookla, headquartered in Seattle, is best known for platforms such as Speedtest, Downdetector, Ekahau, and RootMetrics. Founded in 2006 and currently a division of Ziff Davis, the company employs around 430 experts in software engineering, radio frequency engineering, and data science. Its data platform processes more than 250 million consumer-initiated tests each month, supported by drive, walk, and embedded testing. This enables detailed insights into quality of service, radio frequency signals, and user experience.
Accenture Chair and CEO Julie Sweet said the acquisition will help organizations measure and optimize performance, revenue, and security while scaling AI safely. Manish Sharma, Accenture’s Chief Strategy and Services Officer, noted that the combined capabilities will deliver end-to-end network intelligence critical for AI-driven transformation.
Stephen Bye, CEO of Ookla, said joining Accenture will expand the company’s reach across global enterprises and redefine how connectivity is measured and managed. Financial terms were not disclosed.
