Aurva, founded by former Meta engineers, raised an oversubscribed seed round to build a real-time, identity-aware data monitoring platform—addressing rising enterprise demand for runtime-first security as AI agents increasingly access sensitive data without traditional oversight
Data security startup Aurva, founded by former Meta engineers, has officially launched out of stealth with a $2.2 million seed round, led by Nexus Venture Partners and DeVC, alongside participation from several prominent angel investors from the security and AI ecosystems.
Founded by Apurv Garg (CEO), Krishna Bagadia (CTO), and Akash Mandal (Chief Architect), Aurva is focused on redefining data access monitoring in real time. Drawing on their backgrounds at Meta, where they built large-scale infrastructure and AI security systems, the founding team has built a platform designed for identity-aware, runtime data observability—an urgent need in today’s AI-powered enterprise environments.
Real-time monitoring for AI and human access
Aurva offers what it calls the first unified runtime platform for access monitoring and AI observability. Unlike conventional solutions that rely on logs or static rules, Aurva monitors data access as it happens—regardless of whether the request originates from a human, backend service, or AI agent.
At the core of the platform is eBPF (extended Berkeley Packet Filter) technology, which enables continuous, low-latency monitoring without degrading system performance. This allows organizations to maintain compliance and security while still supporting high-throughput workloads typical in modern digital enterprises.
Strong market traction and global footprint
Despite its early stage, Aurva has already secured enterprise deployments across fintech, banking, and SaaS sectors. Use cases include analyzing over 1 billion daily queries for a digital payments firm, monitoring 4 billion transactions at a global financial institution, and tracking 2,000+ AI agents for a major e-commerce company.
Companies like Razorpay and Meesho have publicly praised Aurva’s ability to detect unauthorized access and prevent privilege escalations—two areas where traditional security tools often fall short.
Backing and growth plans
Aurva’s oversubscribed seed round included angel investors such as former Meta security lead Chris Bream and founders from Postman and Cyware. According to Nexus Venture Partners, the increasing reliance on autonomous AI agents has created strong demand for “runtime-first” security models like Aurva’s.
With offices in California, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, Aurva plans to use the new capital to expand its engineering team, build out AI observability features, and scale enterprise adoption across global markets.
As AI continues to reshape the data landscape, Aurva’s real-time, identity-linked monitoring could position it as a vital player in the future of enterprise data security.
