In recent years, reports about iOS vulnerabilities have frequently made headlines. The Indian government has issued a "High" danger warning for Apple products. Indian Computer Emergency Response Team issued "high" severity warning for Apple products, including iPhone XS and later models. Multiple flaws exist in Apple products due to out-of-bounds read and memory corruption flaws in WebKit component.
CERT-In has issued a high-risk warning for Apple products, highlighting multiple vulnerabilities that could allow attackers to take control of users' devices. These vulnerabilities affect a wide range of Apple products, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches.
According to CERT-In, the identified vulnerabilities could allow attackers to:
1. Execute arbitrary code on affected devices, potentially taking complete control of them
2. Bypass security measures and gain unauthorized access to sensitive information
3. Cause denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, making devices unusable
4. Bypass authentication processes and gain elevated privileges
5. Carry out spoofing attacks, tricking users into revealing personal information or performing malicious actions
CERT-In has warned that multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Apple products that could allow attackers to perform a wide range of malicious actions, including accessing sensitive information without authorization, executing arbitrary code, bypassing security restrictions, causing denial-of-service attacks, bypassing authentication, gaining elevated privileges, and spoofing the targeted system.
As per CERT-In, the vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to access sensitive information, execute arbitrary code, bypass security restrictions, cause denial of service (DoS) conditions, bypass authentication, gain elevated privileges and perform spoofing attacks on the targeted system.
Apple issues statement on opposition's 'state-sponsored' hacking claim. Opposition parties in India have claimed that they have been targets of state-sponsored attacks. Apple has issued a statement on the matter. Opposition parties in India have claimed that they have been targets of state-sponsored attacks.
The cybersecurity agency further warns that these security flaws pose a significant threat as they could compromise the integrity and confidentiality of user data and the proper functioning of these Apple devices, making it crucial for users to stay informed and take necessary precautions.
Apple has issued a critical security update for iPhones to address a zero-day bug in iOS 16 that could allow attackers to remotely install spyware on a device without any interaction from the iPhone owner. However, Apple has even developed a Rapid Security Response system that can add security fixes to an iPhone without rebooting the device.
