2018-10-06
It is true that, one should know on how to do the marketing. Like Huawei had put their efforts on in India for investing continuously in the manufacturing and R&D capabilities and finally invited by the Government Of India for conducting the 5G trials in the country.
India plans to roll out 5G services for consumers by 2020 and to achieve that objective and approve roadmaps and action plans to bring in the latest technology in the country and the leading telecom operators in India including Bharti Airtel, BSNL, Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio are gearing up for 5G launches.
India aims to conduct 5G spectrum auction towards the end of 2019 due to weak financial conditions of the telecom industry. Indian telecom service providers’ gross revenue fell 10 percent in the June quarter of 2018, TRAI statistics shows. The main focus of the new policy is to drive connectivity focusing on Internet and fiber.
Putting speculation about its participation in India's 5G roll-out process to rest, Chinese telecom giant Huawei on Friday said it had received an invitation from the Department Of Telecommunications to take part in the trials for development of 5G use cases in India.
In the US, UK and Australia, Huawei and ZTE is facing resistance from participating in 5G network business due to its alleged connection with China Army or Government. Sometime back in India. the Department of Telecommunications had excluded both the companies Huawei and ZTE from the list of firms asked to participate in 5G trials. Whereas only Cisco, Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. has received the invitation.
As a successful use case, India’s largest and No.1 telecom provider Bharti Airtel and Huawei have successfully conducted India’s first 5G network trial under a test setup in Manesar, Gurgaon. Even the test is small but a significant step in its journey towards the next generation 5G mobile networks, which could offer data speed up to 100 times faster than current 4G networks.
Huawei said it received the DoT letter on September 27, within two days of the cabinet approving the new telecom policy, the National Digital Communications Policy 2018.
The speculation says, the cost to implement 5G to come below the estimated cost, reason being there will be price competitiveness with the arrival of Huawei . Huawei to launch first 5G phone, 5G hotspot device in 2019.
"We appreciate India's collaborative and open approach towards Huawei. The country is on the right track to develop 5G network and Huawei remains committed to adding value to the services that roll out of this technology would unleash, said Jay Chen, CEO, Huawei India .
Huawei has localized presence with the largest overseas R&D center in Bengaluru, the largest global network support service center, nationwide facilities for marketing, manufacturing, logistics, engineering services and skilling and training centers in India.
Huawei said, it could start the trials for 5G use cases as early as end of this year and that they could run for three to four weeks."Huawei's leading technology and world-class solutions customised for Indian specific needs are recognised by the Indian government and industry," Chen said.
Huawei said it would collaborate with the industry, academia and the state governments for the 5G trials which would start after the allocation of spectrum and other formalities are completed. Huawei's trial for 5G use cases would include areas such as enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and wireless to the x (WTTx) -- an advanced wireless broadband access solution proposed by Huawei - among others. With India's emphasis on adoption of emerging technologies, the country is set to become the most dynamic market in the world in the next five years," Chen added.
