“Lenovo is building on the capabilities of innovation that the industry is going to bear witness to. If you look at PC as a category, Intel invented it and we have been adding to it for over 5 decades. The innovation has not lessened, and if you really need to know what is innovation you need to look at how PCs used to look a few years back. Every progression we have made, we have made a significant impact.
Our continued innovation in the microprocessors to cater to the needs of consumers has made a significant impact on people, on their technology using style and how technologies can actually impact their lives. The 7th generation core processor is the heart of Lenovo’s Think range products, if you compare that with 5 year old machines, it has 70% better productivity and 15 times better performance. By keeping the interests of the user community, a Think user can generally do a lot of things by consuming a lot of content such as, videos, HD content, gaming (which is visual in nature), AR/VR kind of usages. You have an opportunity to refresh your platforms to the latest range of Think, drive much more and be far more productive than what we used to be.
So what does 7th Generation core along with Think range offer? There are two parts, one I already talked about - which is the content and content related applications being extremely good and very high performing when it comes to the 7th generation core and the second is security. So combining security and great content performance gives you a compelling value preposition, especially for next generation of usages.”
Talking exclusively to VARINDIA, Prakash also spoke about how Smart city is bringing a huge opportunity for Intel. “As India undergoes rapid digital transformation, the datacenter and the intelligence behind the data collected will enable the government and industry to make effective decisions based on algorithms. Our collaboration with the industry and the academia will help democratize AI, by reducing entry barriers for developers, data scientists and students. In India, we are targeting the BFSI, telecom, and e-commerce sectors, across High Performance Computing (HPC), big data, and Internet of Things, all of which are complementary to AI.”
