Privacy-First Age Verification Debuts
As governments worldwide strengthen online child safety regulations, age verification has become a critical compliance requirement. With more than 30 age-check laws now in force globally, organizations are under increasing pressure to verify users' ages while protecting their privacy.
Addressing this challenge, Incode Technologies has introduced On-Device Age Estimation, a privacy-first solution that performs facial age estimation and passive liveness detection entirely on a user's smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
Unlike traditional biometric verification systems, this technology ensures that a user's facial image never leaves the device. Instead, only the estimated age and tamper-detection metadata are transmitted, significantly reducing the risk of data breaches or unauthorized access. The platform also incorporates deepfake detection and anti-spoofing capabilities to prevent identity fraud.
The solution reflects a growing shift toward privacy-by-design identity verification and is designed to support compliance with regulations including GDPR, COPPA, and the UK Online Safety Act, enabling organizations to deliver highly effective age assurance without requiring identity documents or centralized biometric databases.
