Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will be deploying a 4G mobile network for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd, following the acceptance of an advance order worth Rs 2,903.22 crore. In a regulatory filing, TCS stated that the Advance Purchase Order, received on 20 May, includes the planning, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and annual maintenance of the network infrastructure. Detailed purchase orders will follow, subject to the fulfilment of the conditions and documentation outlined in the Advance Purchase Order.
The execution will further scale up BSNL’s 4G infrastructure, with eyes also on 5G readiness in the near future. TCS noted that final documentation and conditions are pending, and more details will be released by BSNL soon.
In the filing, TCS said detailed purchase orders would be issued by the state-run telecom company in due course, subject to fulfilment of terms, conditions and documentation as mentioned in the APO. The work order is across 18,685 BSNL sites.
The announcement comes close on the heels of TCS’s Q4 FY25 earnings, in which the company reported a 1.7% year-on-year drop in net profit to ₹12,224 crores due to margin pressures.
Revenue for the quarter rose 5.3% to ₹64,479 crore.
For the full fiscal year, TCS posted a net profit of ₹48,553 crore and revenue of ₹2,55,324 crores, reflecting a 5.99% annual growth.
The latest APO strengthens TCS’s role in bolstering India’s digital infrastructure and expanding the footprint of indigenous telecom services.
