Following the success of its inaugural stores at Select Citywalk Saket in Delhi and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai, Apple is reportedly looking to hire up to 400 individuals to expand its retail presence in India.
The hiring spree is said to be in preparation for the upcoming launch of four new Apple stores in Bengaluru, Pune, the Delhi-NCR region, and Mumbai, as announced by the company earlier this month.
The Cupertino-based tech major has posted numerous job vacancies on its India website, offering both full-time and part-time positions. It is expected to recruit 400 new employees for its forthcoming stores in India.
According to reports quoting a person familiar with the development, Apple's part-time opportunities are for fresh graduates seeking experience in working with a large corporation. These graduates can take up various shifts at Apple stores.
Apple's stores at Select Citywalk Mall in Delhi and BKC in Mumbai are believed to have around 90 to 100 employees each. The company is reportedly planning to hire a similar number for its forthcoming locations in Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai.
The development reportedly follows the strong performance of Apple India stores, which achieved a combined revenue of Rs 800 crore in their first year. Interestingly, Apple Saket captured 60 per cent of that revenue, despite being a smaller store.
Recently, the iPhone maker has shifted its focus away from its factories in China, which were once the primary manufacturers of most iPhone models. It has collaborated with companies such as Foxconn and Wistron for assembling popular models in India, with Wistron now under the Tata Group's management.
Although devices like the iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and iPhone 15 have been assembled in Apple’s Indian plants in recent years, the introduction of the iPhone 16 series is significant as it marks the first time Pro iPhone models are being assembled in India.
Although Apple already has a robust network of premium resellers and multi-brand outlets throughout India, its physical stores are essential for brand development. These stores provide a more engaging experience for customers, enabling them to explore products and participate in workshops called ‘Today at Apple,’ where experts help users make the most of their Apple devices.
Additionally, Apple products can be found on its online store as well as through popular e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart.
