Broadcom launches StrataGX Series Processors for NAS Devices

For wired and wireless network attached storage (NAS) devices and routers, a new line of high- performance processors StrataGX BCM5862X Series have been introduced by Broadcom Corporation. The processors series offers a 10x increase in performance with the ARM-based FlexSPARX engine, while integrating enhanced security and storage features to support hybrid cloud services.

The new offering also delivers Gigabit connectivity speeds on wired and wireless connections with support for 5G Wi-Fi, based on the latest IEEE 802.11ac standard.

While enabling secure remote access of files or media content, the new StrataGX Series will deliver highly secure access anytime, anywhere via a line-rate encrypted connection. StrataGX devices will provide highly secure and faster connections to the cloud via a wired or wireless network to allow the rapid flow of multimedia information.

The other key features of these processors include Dual-Core ARM Cortex-A9 processors operating at 1.2GHz, high-bandwidth storage interfaces for local caching of cloud data, Linux development kit, integrated Gigabit Ethernet switch and PHYs enabling support of high-bandwidth applications.
