What are the latest trends in Cable Digitization?

Due to cable digitization, IT companies are introducing new Subscriber Management Systems and additional Value Added Services on the software side. More advanced Set-Top Boxes are also getting introduced with HD PVR, Dual Tuner PVR, Plasma Resistant IR and USB support, etc. Also, soon we will see launching of IDTVs in the Indian market that will support both DVB-T2 and either DVB-S2 or DVB-C receptions.

Please elaborate on Connected Home.

This technology will bring about revolution in our home entertainment system. Connected Home requires high-speed broadband connection that will interlink multiple TVs, computers and other connected devices. Through Connected Home, consumers can enjoy services from home automation, home monitoring, Wellness and Fitness and Energy Management. 

What are Tata Elxsi’s offerings in this domain?

Tata Elxsi offers end-to-end solution on the STB/DTV/Home Media Gateway etc. Also, we have our own DLNA IP which enables sharing of multimedia content over multiple platforms. We have developed second screen applications for Smart TVs providing more convenience to the users. 

What are your go-to-market strategies?

We have partnerships and alliances with multiple OEMs/ODMs and vendors covering the entire ecosystem.
