“When we talk about workspace, UI (User interface) as supporting services, brings a huge value to the it. The workspace services are all a bunch of different cloud services, depending on what you want the workspace to be for you. As far as Workspace UI is concerned, it is the aggregator of all those different resources; it brings virtual absence of desktop. The new intelligence that comes from the micro apps is able to pull some of the top tasks out, we're really trying to make it from the centralized location to get the work done.
Synergy 2019 witnessed, the newer way to do the productivity from a user app. With a whole new era, Citrix is just building and expanding on the opportunities for their existing install base. Citrix is into very highly regulated industries, strong concern on security.
“Historically, Citrix has been referred and known for the virtualization of apps. Now, Citrix SD-WAN can be deployed in several deployment modes and provides the flexibility to integrate the appliances, both physical and virtual, into the customer’s existing networking design is concerned.
Second, we see there is an opportunity to do many things with the Device Management. So, right now you have the endpoint management team, to access to apps and desktops to mobile applications that those hold into it. With the announcements, we are enhancing each one of those different services. To address the growing security risks we have cloud services that are becoming much easier for you and you don't need to have a big data center.”
With the growth of newer technologies, there is growing cyber risk which is a concern and all the corners of the world are under attack. Citrix has strengthened its security front. To address this, Citrix has invested hugely into analytics and machine learning. The company is also investing heavily in resources and R&D centres, which are in Bangalore and China.
Citrix and Microsoft have partnered on innovative IT technology for more than 30 years. The collaboration initially focused on delivering Microsoft Windows apps and desktops and then expanded to provide mobile applications and devices.
“Lastly, Citrix, VMware and Microsoft, we work as the partner and at some areas we are competitors with our workspace solution Vs Hypervisor and Hyper V. We're selling Microsoft licenses and most of our cloud services run on Azure. We're also helping them in driving their product lines they are offering. At times, we also competing,” says Carisa.
