Cyient and NASSCOM bring ER&D to Hyderabad

The first Hyderabad edition of NASSCOM’s Engineering Research and Development (ER&D) conference has kicked off in the city.  Sponsored by Cyient, the conference brought together some of the best minds and thought leaders to discuss the theme ‘Accelerating growth through collaborative innovation’. Attendees included CEOs, directors, engineering and R&D heads from leading companies in India.

 Playing host to the conference, Hyderabad took a step toward fueling future growth by laying a strong foundation in R&D and engineering. The city is strengthening its position consistently as a hub for manufacturing with focus on Aerospace, Hi-Tech and Heavy Engineering industries.

 In his keynote address Krishna Bodanapu, Managing Director and CEO, Cyient Limited said, “At Cyient, we believe that innovation is key to driving growth, developing a healthy competitive ecosystem, and addressing the ever-evolving needs of customers.  The conference consisted of three panel discussions, focused on the future of the aerospace industry, transformational outsourcing in engineering R&D, and innovation culture in Indian industry. The event witnessed industry leaders engaged in discussions on various subjects such as vital industry trends, key challenges faced by customers, and best industry practices.

 The ER&D conference also comprised two specialized workshops— a ‘Master class in product development’ led by McKinsey, and another on ‘Design Thinking’ led by Intel. The former focused on the concepts of lean engineering and development, its impact on accelerating time to market, and an experiential learning platform to build capability in various aspects of product development excellence. The workshop on design thinking introduced participants to the design thinking model as well as creative problem solving using rapid prototyping.
