The global digital trust provider has launched an India-hosted version of DigiCert ONE, aimed at helping enterprises meet regulatory, performance, and data residency requirements while supporting the country’s expanding digital economy.
DigiCert, a global provider of digital trust solutions, has announced the availability of a locally hosted instance of DigiCert ONE in India, strengthening its commitment to the country’s data sovereignty and digital transformation priorities. The move enables Indian organisations to manage critical digital trust operations entirely within national borders, aligning with increasingly stringent regulatory and compliance requirements.
The India-based deployment is designed to address the needs of enterprises operating in highly regulated sectors such as banking, financial services, insurance, healthcare, and telecommunications. These industries are often required to comply simultaneously with guidance from multiple authorities, including the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), SEBI, IRDAI, and CERT-In. By offering a unified platform for managing digital trust, DigiCert aims to reduce compliance complexity while improving operational efficiency and performance.
“India is central to DigiCert’s global growth and innovation strategy,” said James Cook, APAC Group Vice President at DigiCert. “Investing in a local DigiCert ONE instance reflects our long-term commitment to India and enables customers to operate with the performance, compliance, and confidence required from day one while preparing for what’s next.”
Addressing regulation and scale
DigiCert ONE brings together certificate lifecycle management and other trust services on a single platform, allowing enterprises to scale securely while staying aligned with evolving national standards. The company said the locally hosted environment helps remove barriers related to data residency, governance, and latency, which are becoming increasingly critical as organisations expand digital services.
India already plays a significant role in DigiCert’s global operations. Nearly three-quarters of the company’s engineering workforce is based in the country, spread across Bengaluru and Pune. These teams contribute across engineering, product management, IT, customer success, finance, legal, and sales functions. DigiCert currently employs more than 350 professionals in India, making it its largest employee base worldwide.
Growth momentum in India
The launch also follows a period of rapid growth for DigiCert in the Indian market. Over the past year, the company has more than doubled its business in the country, onboarded some of its largest enterprise customers, and expanded its footprint across sectors including IT and IT-enabled services, BFSI, e-commerce, retail, and travel. DigiCert works with Indian customers through a mix of direct engagements and partner-led models.
“This local deployment simplifies adoption for both customers and partners,” said Anant Deshpande, Regional Vice President, India & ASEAN at DigiCert. “Hosting DigiCert ONE in India helps organizations meet regulatory and operational needs now, while building a foundation for changes ahead—from reduced certificate lifecycles to post-quantum readiness.”
The India launch is part of DigiCert’s broader global strategy of offering locally hosted DigiCert ONE instances to meet regional compliance and sovereignty requirements. Similar deployments are already operational in Australia, Europe, Japan, and the United States.
