A round table will be organized on Digital India Conclave by India Inc. along with FICCI and Chase India in Washington DC on 16th January, 2015.
The Narendra Modi-led Indian government officially clicked through the ambitious Digital India programme a few months ago. The vision is simple: to usher India into the digital age where each and every citizen can experience the impact. But this simple vision will require a lot of hard work and investment towards the right kind of infrastructure.
With a decisive play to make the “Digital India” vision a reality, India Inc. has created its own Digital India initiative which ties up with the India-US Partnership Hub to bring a series of online and offline programmes. The first-ever “Digital India Conclave” was successfully hosted in New Delhi on 5th December, 2014.The conclave was the first phase of the programme which brought together around 100–150 key stakeholders across government/public sector, including participation by Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister for Communications & Information Technology, and Shri Piyush Goyal, Power & Coal Minister, private sector as well as other influencers such as think tanks, media and specialist experts.
Against the backdrop of the recent visit of John Kerry at Vibrant Gujarat that witnessed various joint ventures, clean energy, and counterterrorism coupled with President Barack Obama’s India visit scheduled on 26th January, 2015 which is expected to address crucial bilateral collaborations across sectors, there is an increasing potential for Indo-US alliance across various sectors.
“We are pleased that our combined efforts with India Inc., FICCI and Invest India to create a roadmap by facilitating strategic dialogue between the key industry veterans in the first phase of the Digital India Conclave was a success. We are positive that the second edition will culminate in an enhanced association between India and US, thereby providing India with the necessary digital innovation and technology capital for a strong foundation in order for India to realize its Digital India dream,” said Nitin Mantri, CEO of Avian Media & Director Chase India.
The conclave, in association with Amazon.in, Google and Qualcomm, is supported by the US-India Business Council, TCIL and NIXI with Invest India as the Industry Partner will witness speakers highlight areas of mutual benefit to both countries as well as zero in on specific actions.
