ESET to protect SharePoint Servers with Its New Release

ESET has made another addition to its server line of products with the global release of ESET Security for Microsoft SharePoint Server. This new addition is designed to safeguard sensitive information, companies' data and assets stored in databases. It is yet another addition to our server line of products built to safeguard sensitive company data and assets stored in databases. The news security release will ensure protection of SharePoint servers for businesses of all sizes.
 
Companies using ESET Security will be protected against cyber threats including those aimed at file system entry, drive-by downloads, or system exploits and vulnerabilities  as it offers antivirus and antispyware protection.
 
Ignacio Sbampato, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, ESET, said, "Without an additional layer of protection users can mistakenly upload compromised files to the SharePoint Server and infect the entire database. It is built on the same basis as the ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server, but adds a dedicated SharePoint protection component."

The other benefits of  ESET security release include elimination of all types of threats such as viruses, rootkits, worms and spyware; real-time on-access scanning of the server-stored data; allows administrators to fine-tune protection by applying, set up rules based on file name, size and real file type. It enables to monitor and modify the behaviour and users' rights when uploading specific files to the SharePoint database.
 
It also brings in password protected uninstallation that automatically excludes critical server files, recognizes server software such as Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft IIS, and detects server roles.
