EY today announced being named a leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide eDiscovery Services 2021 Vendor Assessment. It notes that EY Forensic & Integrity Services, as part of which EY provides eDiscovery services, have a global footprint and strategically positioned teams that can handle even the most complex technical matters across every region. The assessment also highlights the seamless transition EY made to fully remote services, as a result of investing in technologies that support remote collaboration across a global network of eDiscovery professionals prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Arpinder Singh, Partner and Head – India and Emerging Markets, Forensic & Integrity Services, EY says, “Digital proliferation is transforming the global regulatory environment, with companies leveraging technology extensively to respond to complex legal requirements. The adoption of eDiscovery by legal teams has enabled greater efficiency in dealing with large data volumes and cost management during litigation support, investigations and in addressing compliance and privacy risks especially amid the pandemic. IDC’s recognition acknowledges the service quality that EY’s diverse team continues to deliver as well as the global scalability of the eDiscovery services, reaffirming our market leading position in the industry.”
The bedrock for eDiscovery at EY India is the Forensic Technology and eDiscovery Labs located in Hyderabad and Mumbai that can undertake and support complex legal, compliance and cyber related investigations. The entire process of document review and extraction of electronically stored information (ESI) has been automated at these centres using cutting-edge technologies. The labs apply statistical and predictive modelling techniques such as TAR 2.0 and Active Learning algorithms to optimize the entire eDiscovery lifecycle, from processing to deposition. The diversity of EY forensics and eDiscovery teams is also praised in the IDC assessment for the added value it generates for clients.
Harshavardhan Godugula, Partner, Forensic & Integrity Services, EY says, “I am very proud that EY has been rated as a Global Leader in eDiscovery Services by IDC. We endeavour to continue delivering exceptionally strong value and globally consistent coverage through our multiple delivery models customized to cater our clients’ needs. Thanks to the consistent efforts of our team, EY India’s eDiscovery practice continues to be a market leader in the region and are recognized for our ability to bring down the overall cost of litigation with the latest automation, AI technologies and better-quality standards”.
Todd Marlin, EY Global Forensic & Integrity Services Technology and Innovation Leader, says “Global scale and reach have become even more important during the COVID-19 pandemic. The recognition in the IDC MarketScape assessment is testament to the continuous investment in people, innovation and technology that allows EY to not only meet the needs of today’s market, but also prepare for the future. I am particularly proud that EY teams’ efforts to ensure diversity in our teams, especially through our strong focus on neurodiversity, have also been recognized.”
The IDC assessment reviews both quantitative and qualitative characteristics that define current market demands and future buyer needs for eDiscovery services. Criteria include a provider’s artificial intelligence and cybersecurity capabilities, global footprint, and the ability to scale globally on demand to meet tight deadlines and handle large data volumes quickly and accurately.
