The social networking giant Facebook has made another acquisition. As per the latest update, Facebook has acquired Pryte, a mobile data plan firm based in Finland. The acquisition will help Facebook (which has about 1.28 billion users presently) with its Internet.org efforts.
Founded in 2013, Pryte was created with an aim to facilitate wireless operators to offer mobile data plans to users on a per app basis via short-term passes rather than forcing people to buy it in bulk.Reliable sources informed that Pryte has valuable experience and relationships working with wireless operators, particularly in the emerging markets.
Pryte's team wrote in a blogpost, "Now, we are joining Facebook, whose mission to connect the world by partnering with operators to bring people online in a profitable way aligns closely with our team's goals."The terms and conditions of the deal have not been disclosed immediately.
