E-commerce giants in India receive millions of orders from customers all over the country during the festive season. That's because most websites offer heavy discounts on products at this time of the year. But along with heavy discounts, there also comes the chance of late delivery, wrong delivery, or deliveries that are downright outrageous. This particular incident can plausibly fit into the last category.
A customer ordered an iPhone 12 worth Rs 53,000 from Flipkart during The Big Billion Days and, instead, received two soap bars inside the box.
The report suggests that the customer named Simranpal Singh received two bars of Nirma soap instead of his iPhone 12 order. The customer has also shared a video on YouTube which shows the unboxing of the product. He refuses to share the OTP with the delivery person otherwise it would have shown that the order is received by the customer.
After that he called the Flipkart Support and reported about the incident and wanted them to cancel his order and refund his money. Flipkart finally cancelled the order and refunded the money a few days later.
The Open Box Delivery saved Simranpal from having a lot of trouble and his video recording of the unboxing also helped. It is thus always recommended to go for the Open Box Delivery option for every expensive purchase.
