Google acquires Siemplify
2022-01-05Google confirmed that it has acquired Siemplify for about $500 million. Siemplify is an Israel-based cybersecurity start-up that specializes in end-to-end security services for enterprises, referred to as security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR) services.
Siemplify allows security operation centre (SOC) analysts to manage their operations from end-to-end, respond to cyber threats with speed and precision, and get smarter with every analyst interaction.
“We both share the belief that security analysts need to be able to solve more incidents with greater complexity while requiring less effort and specialised knowledge. With Siemplify, we will change the rules on how organisations hunt, detect and respond to threats,” said Sunil Potti, Vice-President and General Manager, Google Cloud Security.
Although Siemplify has its head office now in New York, the company was founded and still has R&D operations in Israel, which would make this Google’s first cyber acquisition out of the country. Siemplify will be integrated into Google Cloud Platform, and specifically its Chronicle operation.
Amos Stern, CEO at Siemplify said, “We’re excited to join Google Cloud and build on the success we’ve had in the market helping companies address growing security threats. Together with Chronicle’s rich security analytics and threat intelligence, we can truly help security professionals transform the security operations center to defend against today’s threats.”
